Under health and safety regulations and an EU directive, portable appliances within the working environment need to be inspected annually. These appliances would include such items as kettles, toasters, microwaves, computers, heaters, fans, portable hand tools, hoovers etc. or any piece of electrical equipment that is regularly used by people during the course of their work. A special test meter is used to carry out these tests and a full detailed database of all of the portable appliances and their tested condition is provided after the tests are carried out.
