CCTV systems can be provided from a single camera to view an entrance door right the way up to large multiple networks with hundreds of cameras. The systems can be installed in residential, retail, commercial and industrial applications. The systems are recorded on a digital recorder which will allow remote access from anywhere via a laptop or computer once an internet connection is available. The systems can be remotely monitored by a monitoring centre and in the event of an alarm activation the emergency services or keyholders can be contacted to respond.
The closed circuit television systems provided by R.A.S. Security Systems can incorporate both digital and analogue systems. This type of system is called a hybrid system and it allows for modern digital cameras to be added to older analogue systems. The company can also supply IP cameras which can be viewed directly over the internet where access has been granted via a secure password. The systems provided by the company operate on conventional coaxial CCTV wiring but they are also capable of operating over data networks which include CAT 5E and CAT 6 wiring and also over fibre optic wiring for long distances.
The cameras can either be internal or fully weather proofed external cameras and they come in several varieties including fixed, encased in a dome or multi functional pan tilt and zoom dome cameras. The cameras can be standard, colour or day/night cameras which means that when the light level at night drops to a low level the camera will switch from colour during daytime to black and white for low light night time viewing.
In remote areas and large difficult sites an added feature would be the installation of thermal cameras. These provide a thermal image of an intruder at night time and give better visibility of people on or about the premises.
All of the above cameras can be recorded on a digital video recorder which can be provided with a local viewing monitor or multiple monitors installed around the installation. A digital recorder can also be viewed remotely via a broadband connection and this is convenient where a client has multiple sites or where they may operate from home and would like to view what is going on within their workplace. In domestic situations the output from the digital recorder can be sent to a standard television so that in the event, for example, somebody calls to the front door it would be possible, using a remote control for the television to view the camera at the front door and therefore to determine who is calling before opening the door.
The developments of technology within CCTV has seen major advances such as facial recognition cameras. These are cameras which will recognise a particular face and on doing so would carry out a particular function i.e. grant access to a premises. There are also number place recognition cameras which are ideal for carparks and secure areas where it is important to know what vehicles have entered or left the area. This is also useful for delivery vehicles to ensure that the correct vehicles are entering the premises and that there is a log of all vehicles that have entered and left the premises.
External cameras in residential areas are quite important nowadays, particularly with the advent of a large number of high value cars which are prone to be interfered with or stolen. CCTV will provide an adequate deterrent in this case. The systems provided by R.A.S. Security Systems are available for domestic, large residential, retail, commercial, financial, industrial sites and large estates such as residential, country houses and stud farms. The CCTV systems provided can be integrated quite well with access control or intruder alarm systems to provide an integrated security solution.
